  • Preparing witnesses for testimony or appearances before the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA);

  • Providing practical legal advice on reporting requirements, confidentiality issues, and document retention issues;
  • Litigating against challenges to confidentiality;
  • Assisting in setting up systems to meet the legal requirements for deciding whether to initiate a field action;
  • Assisting in setting up and implementing systems to meet TREAD Act and Vehicle Safety Act reporting requirements to NHTSA;
  • Assisting in setting up and implementing systems to meet the reporting requirements of the CPSC;
  • Providing training for a client’s employees regarding applicable regulatory requirements and the company’s policies and procedures implemented to assure compliance;
  • Performing regulatory and product safety audits;
  • Tracking and following any rulemaking relevant to clients, and providing a timely analysis of the rulemaking including recommendations regarding comments that might be filed;
  • Tracking any interpretations of safety standards or regulations that may affect a client’s products or procedures, and advising the client of any actions that it should take based upon the new interpretations; and
  • Following (or participating) in any litigation involving the Agency that may impact the client.
